The CAT Snake Stage Box allows four lines of balanced analog audio to be run down a shielded CAT5/6/7 cable. Each of its four channels can carry balanced analog, AES/EBU, DMX, and Clear-Com signals hundreds of feet away. The CAT Snake is a fully passive unit which can be input directly into analog or digital consoles. Each channel is isolated which means channel 1 can send a DMX Signal while channel 2 is sending balanced analog all down the same shielded CAT5 cable. Multiple CAT Snake stage boxes can be daisy chained to allow the same four analog channels to be dropped in multiple locations. Each CAT Snake stage box has an Ethercon input and Ethercon parallel output that allows the CAT Snake to be used as a hard-wire split.
Available in four male XLR and four female XLR versions.
Starting with either the CAT Snake MX or CAT Snake FX attach your XLR cable ends to channels 1, 2, 3, or 4 and insert your shielded CAT cable into the input or parallel ends. Repeat the process for the other CAT Snake Stage Box to complete the system.
The CAT Snake is compatible with the CAT Rack, CAT Tails, and WallCAT units.

Do I need to use shielded CAT5 cable?
Yes. Each of the channels share a common ground. This is especially important with digital signals.
How far can I send a my mic lines?
For balanced analog we've achieved distances of over 600ft using our SuperCAT cable. The results will vary with other CAT5 brands. For digital signals we
reccommend distances up to 330 ft as per AES/EBU standards.
