Three simple LED lights instantly show shorts, opens, and crossed wires in DMX cables, helping you efficiently troubleshoot your 5 pin DMX control cables.
The DMX Sniffer/Sender instantly tests for every possible fault. The Sniffer has 3 LED lights that will light up in either green or red LEDs to show whether the line is good (all green) or has errors (all red or a combination of red and green). Every unit comes with a color code read out sticker to help you diagnose in seconds.
Fun tip: A lot of users have found the best place for sticking their LED sticker is on the Sniffer unit.

The SoundTools DMX Sniffer/Sender simplifies the cable testing process so you can test your cables where they are in your setup and know instantly if your issue is cable or fixture related. At any point during the first year of ownership, all SoundTools products can be returned to the original place of purchase for a replacement or full refund. Simply contact the place of purchase or see https://soundtools.com/support to arrange the warranty coverage and arrange for SoundTools to cover shipping costs.
After the one year period all SoundTools products have Lifetime coverage against defects or malfunction and SoundTools will replace or repair the unit at no cost. If you wish to start a claim under the Lifetime Warranty contact the SoundTools dealer closest to you, or reach out directly to SoundTools support. Replacement units may be refurbished or B-Stock. SoundTools will cover shipment of the replacement or repaired unit.

- The LEDs on my DMX Sniffer/Sender are showing all red when plugged directly into each other. Is it broken?
Typically this occurs when the batteries are put in backwards. Reversing its position will return it to all green.
- Does the test check all 5 pins?
The DMX Sniffer/Sender test pins 1-3 on the DMX connector. Pins 4 and 5 are not tested. For 3 pin DMX cables, the XLR Sniffer/Sender will work as well.
- Can you test 3 pin DMX cables with the XLR Sniffer/Sender?
