Quickly troubleshoot faulty mic lines and cables with this set of remote end cable testers. This two-piece unit (Sniffer and Sender) allows you to test on the fly without bringing cable ends together. It’s a tool every audio engineer should have, whether in the studio or in live environments.
The XLR Sniffer/Sender instantly tests for every possible fault. The Sniffer has 3 LED lights that will light up in either green or red LEDs to show whether the line is good (all green) or has errors (all red or a combination of red and green). Every unit comes with a color code read out sticker to help you diagnose in seconds.
Fun tip: A lot of users have found the best place for sticking their LED sticker is on the Sniffer unit.
Test 50+ channels from a snake system in minutes with the Sniffer unit using phantom power from the console, or use the Sender unit to provide phantom power when needed.

All SoundTools products are covered by a LIFETIME Happy Human warranty. At any point during the first year of ownership, all SoundTools products can be returned to the original place of purchase for a replacement or full refund. Simply contact the place of purchase or see https://soundtools.com/support to arrange the warranty coverage and arrange for SoundTools to cover shipping costs.
After the one year period all SoundTools products have Lifetime coverage against defects or malfunction and SoundTools will replace or repair the unit at no cost. If you wish to start a claim under the Lifetime Warranty contact the SoundTools dealer closest to you, or reach out directly to SoundTools support. Replacement units may be refurbished or B-Stock. SoundTools will cover shipment of the replacement or repaired unit.

**For damaged SoundTools cables over one year past purchase date, the warranty covers no cost re-termination to the longest viable length.
- The LED's on my XLR Sniffer/Sender are showing all red when plugged directly into each other. Is it broken?
There is a little known feature of the XLR Sniffer/Sender which, when the battery is reversed, shows the LEDs in the opposite color. This can be useful when the green is difficult to see or red is a better color of the situation. Simply reverse the battery to get the desired color for reporting.
- Some of my XLR Sniffer LED's are orange. What does that mean?
If you see any orange LED's that means your unit has an orange led swap with the traditional red. Below is a link to an updated color code chart for the orange LED's. If you'd like to exchange your unit for a standard red LED sniffer please send an email to support@soundtools.com.
